BEAU SAGA THE ORIGINATOR OF AFRO-HOP BRINGING HIS SOUND THE MASSES!

November 15, 2022 by Carisha Johnson

By: Carisha

Music is an art that can bring even the two most culturally different people together to embrace the beauty of the sounds. No matter what genre of music you prefer to create, there is a pair of ears somewhere on the planet who will appreciate it, and even have a personal testimony as to how it helped them get through a trying time. When you listen to what Beau Saga develops in his craft you instantly become filled with good energy, an easy spirit, and devour into relaxing island vibes to sooth your mind and soul. Not one to fill his music with anything but substance, this is a solid artist who takes his time to create something meaningful that his fans will appreciate.

Beau Saga grew up in the Bronx but was born in Harlem. He did not have anything handed to him and had to earn everything on his own. This

disciplined upbringing is what developed him into the artist he is today! Beau Saga was the 1st American born in his family, so he was able to see several things from several unique perspectives and have a versatile view on cultures as opposed to his family born back home in Africa.

Beau Saga is the type of artist who can appeal to the masses. He embodies a ‘household name’ essence about him due to his easy listening lyrics filled with high vibration beats and Caribbean undertones. His single ‘Boots’ out now on all platforms is a must hear song that really highlights just how authentic he is with his sound! The song masters what he brings to the music world in his signature lane of Afro-Hop.

Check out his Q&A below

1. Talk to us about where you grew up?

I grew up in the Bronx yet was born in Harlem. I was raised in the south Bronx to be exact. I know this lifestyle can seem entertaining to the eye, but one must sacrifice and learn many gems along the way. In short, everything starts with knowing who you are. I was not born with a silver spoon, and I always considered myself a diamond in the rough. I have not had anything handed to me; I went out to obtain the things I dreamed for, which I am still jumping hurdles today to make it happen. Life is simple, does not mean it is easy. I am staying out of trouble, staying focused so I can remain financially stable to do things I need to do, meeting the right people at the right time to establish those relationships and friendships with those who can help aid me to the next level.

2. How did your upbringing influence your sound and your creativity as an artist?

Being the first generation American in my family, I was able to see life through multiple lenses. Essentially this is how I was introduced to the disconnect that the barrier of language can inflict, and how one can feel social awkwardness being in a room full of “mixed backgrounds” even though we all can trace our roots back to Africa. I found this to be a frequent problem amongst the new gen Americans and sought to become an influence for change. Not only in the nightlife but as well in our day-to-day interactions between people and music.

3, When was the 1st time you fell in love with music? Where were you? What song did you listen to?

I was always an outgoing person, an adrenaline junkie, which led to me trying my hand at a variety of sports, from basketball to track, and aggressive inline skating. I was constantly striving to push my body and myself to my utmost limit. All throughout my life music had a deep impact on my development. At a young age while at home in the living room with my father, he played Michael Jackson and upon hearing him was hooked on music for life! I was influenced so much that I later became a musician myself.

4. Who has been the most motivating person on this journey?

I can not say it is solely one person, but more of the idea of legacy and family. I believe in the motto that it takes a village to raise a child.

5. Tell us a time you were most doubtful in your career, what were you going through and how did you push through it?

I have been blessed with the opportunity to wake up every day and work hard while living in my truths. All the proceeds I receive from Beau Saga’s creative work, sustains me personally. From day one there were many obstacles and issues, but every day I grew increasingly in my craft and learned valuable tricks to the trade. I just had to remain focused and consistent. Eventually I began to strategize and work smarter.

Although this journey is tedious and truly a marathon the rewards are astounding and speak for themselves.

Ways to Make Extra Money During a Slow Business Cycle

The slow business cycle is affecting everyone, whether you teach music or create it online. The best thing to do is to be prepared and find ways to make money.

Unfortunately, there will be slow business cycles every year. What’s new is the length of time that this cycle is lasting. With the low economic growth, it is likely to last longer than usual. The good news is that this doesn’t mean that you should give up your business. Rather, it’s a signal to be more strategic.

In these downturns, customers may be more cautious about spending. However, it doesn’t mean that your business should be slow, too. These economic cycles are not new, but it’s important to know how to manage them when things are slow. Fortunately, there are ways to stay afloat during these times, and Rude Girl Radio shows you how.

Create a Side Hustle

Besides the slow business cycle, you should think about creating a side hustle. If your main source of income is from your full-time 9-to-5 job, it’s okay to have another source of income. You don’t have to quit your job just to stay afloat in this tough economy. However, you should also be smart about it.

For example, you can create tutorials for YouTube or even teach music courses. Explore your options and find an idea that fits your abilities and your budget.

Create a Course

During a slow economy, the demand for online music training has only risen. To have extra income, you can turn your knowledge into a course. Since the market is flooded with online music courses, you might worry about the profitability of your course. However, you don’t have to worry about this because there’s already a market for what you have to offer. All you need to do is to create your course and share it with the world.

To save money, consider converting your garage or outdoor space into a studio or recording room. While you may need to invest a little money to get it fixed up, it will save you money you might spend renting studio space. You may need to repair some damaged concrete in your garage or lay a new foundation for an outdoor space, so look online for cement contractors. These businesses are likely feeling the economic downturn, too, and may offer some discounts. Shop around and read reviews, and be sure to have someone out for a written contract. Never accept a quote over the phone or you might end up with surprise expenses that you don’t want.

Hold a Raffle

Hold a raffle or competition and give away some of your merchandise or a free gift with purchase via email or social media. This can be an inexpensive yet effective way to build your list.

Depending on your business, you can have a giveaway once every six months. This will keep your customers engaged with your brand, and they will be interested in what you have to offer. You should also think about the type of giveaway you should do. If your products are related to music, you can give away a free coaching session or access to premium content.

Upgrade Old Content

If you have a lot of old content on your blog, then you should think about rewriting and upgrading it. When things are slow, take the opportunity to do some basic upkeep that you may have been too busy to update regularly.

During the busy seasons, you might want to consider hiring a content writer to handle blog posts and social media updates for you. Good and timely content can bring more traffic to your sites, which can also bring in more income.

Accept Paid Trials

If you have a product or a service that involves a payment, e.g., an online course, you can consider offering free trials. Although paid subscriptions are the goal, during a slow business cycle you may want to focus on building a relationship with your customers and keeping them engaged. Plus, free trials can get people introduced to what you have to offer and, when the trial is over, they may be convinced to subscribe.

Business downturns from a slow economy can be frustrating and even scary as an entrepreneur. However, there are ways to supplement your income and build your business even when times are lean. Be creative, connect with your audience, and drive people to your sites. Even if it doesn’t make you money in the moment, these strategies will set your business up for success in the long run.

AAP Deno

It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for. The ones that couldn’t care less about attention, but always seem to be the center of it all.

“I didn’t ask for any of this,” says AAP Deno in reference to his current come up within the music industry. “Everybody just always said I looked like a rapper, and made moves like a rapper, when really I was just being me, A.A.P, About A Profit.”

Even through his conversations, his nonchalance makes the loudest statement.

“l’m not trying to be the flashiest. I can honestly give a f-‘ck less. I just want the people to know life is a constant journey, and it’s all about the choices you make. Everything you see me with, is based upon a choice I n1ade. It’s that simple,” says the 24 year old.

Growing up with both parents in Arlington, Texas, yet in separate households, Deno experienced both sides of the playing field as his dad was forced to teach him the ins and outs of the street life.
It was these lessons that fueled Deno’s hustle, eventually leading him to bet on himself and make a move to Los Angeles. Within his first two weeks of living in California, his willingness to risk it all for the bigger picture attracted the CEO of Birdvision Entertainment, who signed Deno soon after.

“I have a lot of stories to tell,” says Deno, “and the difference between me and others is- they’re not stories. They’re my real life experiences.”

His life experiences are what have contributed to the moniker “Superdave”, The Hood Role Model, which is also the title of Deno’s upcoming debut. “I want my music to inspire people. I want the listeners to understand no circumstance is permanent. It’s all about what you do with what you’re dealt”, says Deno.

The release of his freshman single “For tha Birds,” a hard-hitting dance floor bop that features a smooth, but high energy track coupled with Deno’s confident flow has caught the attention of fans and record execs alike. His versatile, yet distinct style helps to ensure his destiny as a superstar. After listening to his music, one will see that Deno has a much bigger purpose than the average artist. He’s vividly painting pictures, not only allowing the listener to hear where he’s coming from, but literally see and feel where he’s coming from. It’s more than just music that he’s creating. It’s a legacy.

Catch AAP Deno on Rude Girl Radio at 1pm ET on the Rude Girl Radio app.
