Q. Tell us how you came up with the name of your EP, Cliche’?
I write songs about love, life, and relationships. The topics I write about aren’t new, in a sense they are cliché because they’ve been visited time and time again. But with my fresh perspective I put a new spin on these topics and welcome new listeners to tap in with their emotions.
Q. What was your personal favorite song on the project and why?
My favorite song is Be Fr. It started out as a freestyle and developed into something really relatable. I feel like I’m entering a new era of really talking my shit unapologetically.
Q. How do you feel wrapping up a new chapter in your career with the new music? What milestones have you found out about yourself?
I feel super accomplished. Some of the songs were recorded years ago while others were recorded just days before the release. It’s rewarding to see my growth as a writer over time and to see how much I’ve also grown as a business woman in this industry.
Q. What do you want to say to your fans?
I want you all to be open to feeling your feelings. Right now we live in a society that is normalizing cheating and toxic relationships. I hope my music encourages you to focus on healing and learning to love yourself.
Q. What’s next for Karléh?
We’re going on a radio tour with ACE Magazine and a festival tour with the Stooges Brass Band.
Q. Describe your artistry in 1 word?
