Black History Month is not starting off too fabulous for Jussie Smollett. The former ‘Empire’ cast member who made a wonderful name for himself on the show as the gay son of ‘Lucious’ played by Terrence Howard has made headlines once again for his now famous ‘Subway’ run. Jussie made major headlines last year for a alleged robbery he reported to police in which he was attacked by two ‘racists’ white men who poured bleach on him, and tied a noose around his neck on his way home from Subway in nearly freezing weather of Chicago.

Special prosecutor Dan Webb indicted the actor on 6 charges of disorderly conduct, the Cook County Clerk’s Office confirmed Tuesday. Smollett took things to a whole different level when he said that 2 Trump supporters ambushed him while he was on his way home that night in January 2019. He also said the men yelled racist slurs at him, and got a response from the president himself for such accusations. He was originally charged with 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct for lying to the police about the attack.

The prosecutors say Smollett orchestrated the attack with the help of two brothers whom he paid for their services. Abel and Abimbola Osundairo later fled to their home in Nigeria. They were arrested by federal agents once they returned to Chicago. It was confirmed that all charges were dropped against Smollett in February 2019 in exchange for community service and forfeiture of his $10,000 bond payment. Unfortunately a police union accused the Cook County prosecutor’s office of misconduct and the indictment has been finalized with 6 counts of disorderly conduct.

Dan Webb was appointed as special prosecutor to review State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s actions in the case. Fox’s hit show ‘Empire’ dropped him from the cast last year amid the media frenzy regarding the whole situation. His family stood by him through the entire time and maintained his innocence. Some have speculated the budding actor staged the incident to get a bigger paycheck for his role on the show and gain more popularity.
