Queens, New York’s finest, Rapper Tarxan sits down on ‘Live With Carisha’ in Atlanta for a in-depth 1 on 1 interview into the artist and his music.

The Independent Hip-Hop scene has been constantly evolving with sticking to a solid industry standard, where artists are taking control of their own music, streams, income, and branding.

Born in Guyana and raised in New York, rapper Tarxan may keep it low key while he is on the scene, but when it comes to his sound, he is 100% about putting all his energy and emotion into delivering powerful music. The artist is also a self-made entrepreneur, with his own growing brand ‘The Empire State of Mind’ a New York themed company that covers photography, artwork, music, and entertainment.

Crediting mega house artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, and Erykah Badu as his major influences, gives him the diverse pallet to cross over and appreciate other genres of music.

With everything going on in 2020 regarding the Pandemic, recent protests, and the closing of major cities around the world, the entertainment business has been hit the hardest. With a lack of shows and club appearances, many artists are going through the struggle of staying productive and booked. Hailing from the North with a slight edge of survival dust, Tarxan has been strategically putting out quality music and growing his online fan base. He mentions seeing a lot of growth in his music career from where he started, and always making it a goal to do better and be better with every project he drops. With a heavy following on Soundcloud, he has a new EP on the way ‘State of Mind’, as well as a collab with New York rapper, Dave East.
