Congratulations are much needed for mega entertainment mogul Tyler Perry. He was celebrated over the weekend for his official grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios. Hollywood’s finest came out to for the fabulous red carpet event. History was made as he is now the first African American actor/director/writer/producer to own a studio outright with no partners or corporate backing!!
Stacey Abrams, Beyoncé, Whoppi Goldberg, Viola Davis and more were some of the ICONIC names present for the affair. He told the guests of the impact he’d like to make at the studio’s grand opening. All guests were given a tour of the 330 – acre studio. Each of the twelve sound stages are all named after legendary African American stars. In a genre where people of color have been overlooked, under paid, miss represented, and disrespected, this studio is everything!! As owner Tyler is under no one, he is free to create, and hire who ever he wishes. The amount of award winning productions is limitless!! Beyoncé who stunned in a fabulous curve-hugging gown left a heartfelt message to Tyler Perry on her Instagram.
