West Palm Beach rapper Luh T5 is that young, hungry artist that comes into the game turning heads with the consistency and the style to back it up. With a very fashionable look he can double as a model or actor, but music is his passion. He has been recording music since he was in high school and his Sophomore year is when he started taking it seriously. It’s ‘slime life’ all day for Luh T5 who says his biggest inspiration is Young Thug, so it comes as no surprise that Young Stoner Life Records is his dream label to one day sign with.

This is a true artist who brings a story to his lyrics and has that aura about him that gives anyone in his presence the vibes like you just know he is destined for greatness. Overall having the “it factor” is what will make you into a star. As an artist and entrepreneur his upcoming clothing line T5 Apparel’ is set to drop sometime in 2021. The line will carry his staple T-shirts available soon. He has not let the current pandemic slow down his hustle at all this year and he has been constantly in the studio sharpening up his craft and recording music. The rap industry is always a musical jungle and with the recent deaths we’ve lost this year alone, Luh T5 feels like what you rap about can sometimes come back to haunt you. He is not big on being flashy on social media, and the whole ‘superstar’ look is not really his cup of tea. More of a laid-back individual he prefers to let his music speak for him. A fan of Spiderman and lover of the arts we can expect to see him on the big screen as he plans to one day go into acting. He has been spending the tail end of his year traveling to Atlanta and other cities doing features and media runs. With a mixtape out now featuring Fireboy, and promoting his music with his team T5’s fans are ready for his album set to drop January 2021. Follow him on Instagram @luh_t5

Koldplayy G is a member of Trap Baby Gang Music Group in Miami and is putting in the work to make a name for himself. Trap Baby Gang is a team of artists, that produce music, own a clothing line, specializes in Vegan Culinary and more. Being a member of the notorious Music Group has helped him to become a grounded artist who has a clear conscious of what he wants to gain in the music industry. Koldplayy is heavily influenced by Reggae music and his favorite artist from that genre is Chronic Law. Despite the Coronavirus being the biggest pandemic to hit the world in years, he has managed to stay productive throughout all the challenges the entertainment industry has been going through. With popularity weaning away from record labels and people taking charge of how they publish their music it has become a new wave in the music industry. Thanks to DIY uploads, and the options of taking charge of their own streams the opportunities that independent artists must elevate with are endless.

Koldplayy G also respects the movement that we all have come to love in the Hip-Hop industry from ‘Nipsey Hussel’. Since hearing Nipsey’s song titled ‘Bigger Than Life’, Koldplayy feels as if that sound was what hit him to wake up, and brought him back into music, reading, and finding his self. Music is an immensely powerful entity for the soul and appreciating the lyrics of Nipsey Hussel is what keeps him motivated. When you speak to him, he is unbelievably soft spoken and humble in his demeanor then transforms into a total opposite when he is in his artistry.

Trap Baby Gang is really doing well by their artists, and Koldplayy G has made it known where his loyalty stands. They have a busy top of the year coming from their home front with new projects on the way. He is also not 1 to instigate violence in his lyrics and all the recent deaths we have lost in the Hip-Hop industry has had an impact on his music. Koldplayy considers himself an intellectual rap artist and although the game can be full of savagery and hate, he wants to take the high road and keep his music elevating to the people.

Thanks to DIY uploads, artists taking charge of their own music streams, booking their own shows, with the help of social media and building a loyal fan base today you can do it 100% solo without a record label behind you.

When you think of the diversity in the Hip-hop Industry you cannot help but notice the rise of dope rap artists on the scene in Florida. The beach life is not the only wave to chase in the 305, and the music industry is full of opportunity for upcoming artists. All the major cities there have something to offer, and Miami is in the forefront with helping artists go mainstream.  J Staxx saw the opportunities that independent artists are accelerating from in their careers and in 2018 he decided to take his music seriously. With the support of his team, they began a movement of getting him seen and launching a budding career. He also mentions that his name relates to money and being successful, thus calling himself ‘J Staxx’. . When you listen to a J Staxx track you are getting a story and lyrics, where he is expressing the trials of surviving in the trenches. He is an artist that gives you substance, and really takes the time to put meaning behind what he is rapping about. The trap melodies he delivers are poetic and laced with bars of true-life situations he has experienced.

. What started out with him freestyling with his friends, evolved into 1 day taking it seriously and wanting to begin recording full songs. He believes his purpose is to make music and inspire people to chase their dreams. The soft-spoken artist is a deep thinker. He is working on not over-thinking his career choices and putting all his energy into the music. He grew up listening and being inspired by the Hot Boys and Cash Money who both heavily influenced his music. He is a spiritual man and says 2 of the major things he cannot live without are money and women, but do not get it twisted he is as humble as he is talented. J Staxx stays to himself when he is in his creative zone and prefers being in a peaceful place while working on his craft.  After living in Connecticut and Boston for a while before relocating to Florida, he has experienced the high and lows of the music styles in the north and the south giving him a culture advantage. Over the next 2 years he wants to consistently keep dropping music and growing his fan base. J Staxx is in the studio several days during the week and is dropping a new project weekly. When he is not recording, he spends his time in the gym staying fit and ready to tour. His plans for 2021 is to keep releasing new projects and he is willing to work with all types of artists and genres as long as the talent is there. @j_staxx

Miami has some of the hardest rappers in the industry. Not only is it a melting pot of different cultures, the entertainment scene is where some of the new wave of artists are really make some noise for themselves. Taseti has a signature flow, beautiful look, and her own sound. She brings something different to the Hip-Hop Industry. The Miami Hip Hop scene is sometimes overlooked simply because there is so much going on in the city, but a ‘dope’ rapper will always remain on everyone’s radar. Taseti has that pretty girl voice but when she opens her mouth to rap, you are always getting bars laced with a heavy rap flow. She most certainly has her own style and brings flavor to the industry. The talented MC came up with her name from a tribe in Egypt, and she fell in love with the meaning behind it regarding the African American culture being a ever-lasting impression in the history of Earth.

Working hard on her craft, Taseti is balancing her music career and motherhood. She has a young daughter who is 1 of her major inspirations. The amount of support and love for women who get up every day to raise their own, and still get out in the music business is what makes America a success. Here there are no rules, no norms to have to stick to. With Rolling Stone reporting in their Independent Artist Sector, that estimations included that independent artists generated $1.61 billion from recorded music in 2019… and that, in 2020, this figure will climb 32% to more than $2.1 billion. These numbers are proving everyday that artists can work hard, monetize their music, even control what type of music they put out to the world, and when they decide to. Taseti has been utilizing Soundcloud as her central music platform and has been releasing singles to build a following. She initially enjoyed poetry before her love for rapping and, is a true artist who prides herself on bringing substance into her catalog. With a dislike for the over-sexualizing in today’s music, she wants to bring authentic Hip-Hop without any gimmicks to her fans. She is heavily inspired by Nipsey Hussel and Lil Wayne. 2021 will be a big year in the music business and the hard work that Taseti has been putting in will resonate off everyone’s radars! Karen Son November 26th

Florida not only has the best beaches, but it’s also home to some of the hottest artists in the industry. It is refreshing to see a community of all different ethnicities pouring in to the state to create a melting pot of cultures. The Hip-Hop scene has always been an unstoppable force throughout all of the major cities there contributing to the music industry. We have gotten several amazing mainstream artists and stars who came up out of the 305. The one we should watch out for in the 1st quarter of 2021 is without a doubt Freezie da Iceman.

Self-named for his reputation of being cold in the booth and the streets, Freezie is one of those artists who made it clear his music is a business and will be treated as such, so come correct. With Rolling Stone Magazine reporting that indie artists are set to generate more than $2 Billion dollars in 2020 with a 32% increase in their profits thanks to DIY uploads and rapid global growth, the independent music scene has become a avenue where artists are creating their own wealth and success. Freezie is making sure to get a piece of the pie. His new album ‘Karen Son’ drops on all platforms this month November 26th on Thanksgiving Day. From his own viewpoint, the fans can expect a project that is “creative, ruggish and dope”. 1 secret his fans DON’T know about him is he never uses auto-tune…but on the album he did experiment with it on 1 song.  He put all his heart into the project, which is named after his mother Karen, who he credits as his inspiration. Freezie grew up in a large family with 15 siblings on his father’s side, and 4 siblings on his mother’s side thus making him fully equipped with a team of supporters and fans that support his movement. He brings to the rap game a polished flavor of musical brilliance, and is not afraid to take risks with growing his music catalog. He also owns his own recording studio in Miami which is a excellent way to cut the costs on his recording. Yvng Slxda

By: Sip of Gossip

Florida is not only an attraction for hitting the sand and swimming, but it also houses some of the most talented artists out right now. Calling himself Slxda, the XDA in his name stands for ‘exotic’ and he has made it clear he wants to do everything different and in his own style. The biggest concern for Florida independent artists is feeling as if they’re not taken seriously because they do not necessarily have the same popularity accolades that mainstream artists receive. Rapper Yvng Slxda hails from a small town in Florida called Wimauma. Slxda has made quite the name for himself already back at home and his team has a full path for his continued growth. With the rise of social media and millennials being attracted to the lime lights, the independent artist scene can be full of pressures to dress and carry yourself a certain way to get hits. Slxda is above the rest based on staying grounded, humble, and focused on his music. Being only 15 years old, his manager is helping him with balancing school and recording. Slxda has the personality and look that sales in the music business. His delivery is full of energy and he would love to sign with Quality Control Records.

Yvng Slxda has a new EP dropping at the end of the month titled ‘Diamond in The Rough’, and his 1st tour performance in Tampa. When it comes to business and being in the entertainment industry, the serious artists will always have a structured plan or goals to stay consistent. Yvng Slxda’s overall 1-year plan is to continue to grow a strong fan base and interact with them more. With the success off his music he also has hopes to buy his mother a new house. His favorite female rapper is Megan Thee Stallion, so hopefully we can see a feature from the two of them in the future. Of course, with being a full-time artist he does not get much time for fun, so his biggest hobby is recording music. The truth is you cannot stop what you were born to do. This year has been exceedingly difficult in the music business. Several artists have lost large sums of money due to not being able to tour or do appearances so its no surprise that his hardest challenge of 2020 was the Coronavirus putting a damper on his show performances. Although he made it through the storm, with the release of his upcoming EP we can expect a full schedule from him in 2021.
