Georgia native ‘Grapesoda Henderson’ releases dope new Hip-hop/ R&B album and decides to make more conscious music considering police brutality and racism.

There are so many talented music artists hailing from Georgia. We took a trip to Carrollton and found this dope indie artist ‘Grapesoda Henderson.’ He has his own style, great melodies, and his new album is hard. With all that is going on in America I though it was only right to do a written interview with him “social distancing” style and get his thoughts for the project and more. His new album is something everyone can bop to anytime! It has a mixture of something sexy for the ladies, and some well rhymed bars for the fellas. The Trap-R&B movement is alive in well and with the success of mega artists such as Chris Brown, Torey Lanez, and Jacquees, its refreshing to see when artists mix R&B ballets and hip-hop together. There is so much bad going on in the world right now, it was a pleasure learning that this artist is aware of the attacks on black men and police brutality. It is also wonderful to know he has decided to make more conscious music for his fans. If you are looking for something fresh and alive to listen to then this project is right for you! ‘Spend the Night’ featuring Vskye is the sexy jam you play when you are chilling with bae and looking for the right ‘chill song.’ ‘Never Learn’ featuring Curtis Dro has a positive message for everyone to relate to, something poetic. Check out our Q&A, stream the album and tell us what you think below.

  1. Tell us your thoughts about the protests in America?

Due to the many years of police brutality and oppression in America towards people of color, this was the result of being ignored and treated as second class citizens. People can only take so much and have so much patience until they reach a breaking point. The riots we can do without, but you cannot control what they should or should not do.

  1. Has what’s been going on had an impact on your music?

The events happening now really made me become more consciously aware of what I write and say in my music.

  1. What is the inspiration behind the music on your new project?

The inspiration was to give fans something they could vibe and chill to. Pretty much a little insight of my life day to day.

  1. I love the artwork how did you come up with it?

I choose the artwork off the strength of giving people a different perception of my artistry. I showed people a part of my daily routine which is looking through the fridge.

  1. Describe your style in 1 word?

“Smooth”

  1. Who are you’re musical influences?

My influences musically are Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill.

  1. Would you do an Instagram Live concert of your music?

I would be open to an IG live concert.

  1. If you could collab with anyone right now who would it be?

I would collab with Dom Kennedy!

Zaytoven Beatz, DJ Roots Queen, Lil Jon, DJ Baby Drew, and more team up for a virtual event with Cov-Aid to raise funds for families and front-line workers impacted by the ‘Coronavirus.’

As of now everyone is aware of the biggest worldwide pandemic to affect the entire globe in a long time, the ‘Coronavirus.’ We are all literally in this together, and it is a blessing to see so many people come together to help and support families, businesses, and front-line employees. It’s been an absolute headache trying to find accurate information on the correct amount of cases, recovery and death statistics, but your chances of becoming infected with the virus are gradually smaller IF you stay indoors, and wear a face mask when you go outside. The scariest part of the virus is that you can test positive and not have any symptoms, which could possibly create a danger to someone who’s immune system is not as strong. Several celebrities, health care workers, and government officials have taken to social media to encourage people to remain indoors to slow down the curve of the virus. We are here to keep you entertained, and essentially, we are using our platform to provide as many fun at-home options that you can investigate with your loved ones. On Tuesday May 5th tune in and join #covaid who will be using their platform to help families and workers on the front line. It will be an epic 10 hour live-streaming event, which will include gaming with your favorite celebrities, esports, a music charity segment, and DJ Roots Queen will be doing a 1 on 1 Q&A interview with super producer Zaytoven Beatz. DJ Roots Queen, CEO of Rude Girl Radio and Zaytoven’s official DJ, will be hosting a 20-minute segment with the Grammy winning producer during the live-streaming.

The talented and conscious ‘Ogechi’ may have hailed from the mother land of Africa, but Atlanta is quickly becoming more in love with her music and positive approach of advocating social awareness to Black history!

Ogechi has recently made her re emergence back into the social media world and music industry with a whole new style, and new music to follow. Known for her enchanting look, and strong powerful movement of being a true ‘woke’ artist she effortlessly uses her platform to uplift, inform, and teach the people about modern- day enslavement, and the challenging fight of racial equality. She gives a strong representation for young girls to look up to, and in a day in age where social media has created a ‘heathen’ mentality amongst the masses, it’s refreshing to see a women of color proudly stay true to her culture.

Not only is she a musician but she is a professional dancer, author, and a co-host of Rude Girl Radio Rude Girl Radio is all female podcast where she offers her voice, and knowledge about the heavily popular Hip-hop industry. She also hosts amazing interviews on the platform as well. Starting her career off doing poetry, she eventually got the ‘music bug’ and transitioned into a recording artist. With a very ‘dope’ lyrical delivery, her music ( Spotify) offers you knowledge about black culture, funk, even rock. To put her in a box would be undermining all her skills, and you are definitely going to want to tune in for her new weekly poetry readings starting this Sunday night at 11:11 p.m.

She will be reading from her 1st book titled “Lost Negro Records.” This will be her debut 1st run doing weekly poetry readings from her home which she calls “the Muva Ship.” The book is an informative piece that invites young people and the seasoned vets to open the door of Black consciousness and set their minds free. At a time where people of color are still being wrongfully executed by the police, misrepresented in the media, and facing the largest income gaps, now is the time to let go, become better educated about black history, and take in positive energy from a true Nigerian Queen. Tune in with us Sunday evening for “Poet Tings” at 11:11 p.m. and let her know what you think about the readings > Poetry Reading ..if you’re on Twitch @gechibaby

Atlanta’s finest, DJ Calvin calls out Philly MC legend “Gillie Da King” on social media for clout chasing off the city of Atlanta.

By: Sip of Gossip

It was all good just a few months ago when everyone was partying to bring in the New Year, and planning to make this 2020 the ultimate glow-up. That fantasy has sizzled ever since the Coronavirus or Covid-19 popped up and claimed the lives of thousands of people whose immune system could not fight the virus. Everyone from the politicians to online influencers has had an opinion on when would be a safe time to reopen the economy. With the fear of a worldwide recession breaking out, the senate and president’s cabinet have been battling on how to get ahead of the curve and stop the virus from further spreading. The state of Georgia has approximately 18,391 confirmed cases as of Tuesday April 22. With a higher recovery rate then actual deaths various people have spoken out about reopening the world, and taking dangerous chances just to allow citizens the opportunity to be outdoors. President Donald Trump stated just a few weeks ago that “people are going to die that have never died before.” With this rationale we can only pray that moving forward with state to state re-openings is decided intelligently enough to protect the best interests of the people.

As of yesterday, Republican Governor Brian Kemp went to the press and announced that the state will begin reopening starting with hair salons, barbershops, and certain small businesses that will be able to obey certain social distancing guidelines. The announcement created a worldwide outcry from not just the citizens living in the state, but out of state people voicing their opinions as well. Democrat Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also weighed in on Governor Kemp’s actions stating she ‘allegedly’ was not made aware of his plans to begin reopening the state as early as Friday April 24th. Mayor Bottoms, whose mother owned a hair salon for 20 plus years is against his decision stating “you have to live to be able to fight another day.” Deaths are continuously rising state wide, and there are many people with asthma in Georgia. Gillie Da King, a Philadelphia native, recording artist, blogger, and entrepreneur made a public video shaming the citizens of Atlanta, and insinuating that the ‘higher ups’ are not looking out for the best interest of the African American community. His overall statements concluded that this is a trap to invite many more minorities to possibly become infected with the virus. Gillie who has never been 1 to bite his tongue, spoke openly and vividly that people “don’t see the gimmick going down”, and that “ni&&as can’t wait to get the Coronavirus special.” He also goes on to ask why other states not as populated with minorities are not being opened as well.  DJ Calvin also known in the industry as ‘da coordinator’ works with artists development, helping independent artist reach higher levels of success and hosting amazing mixtapes.  He took matters in his own hands and called out the “Get Down on The Floor” artist as being a clout chaser, and to “respect the black intellect and hustle that creates Atlanta!” Do you think Gillie Da King is trying to chase clout or is he stating that politicians should not be handling situations most regarded by the CDC? Take a look at the video below and tell us what you think.
